A cluster based method for the recovery of the lost motion vectors in video coding
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, an effective and computationally efficient method for the recovery of lost motion vectors in video codecs is proposed. The method clusters motion vectors into groups exhibiting coherent motion. The cluster with the majority of motion vectors is selected and a statistical method is applied to the group to estimate the lost motion vector. Simulation results are presented, including comparison with existing methods, such as the Average or Median of the motion vectors in the neighbouring blocks.

Transmission of compressed video over error prone channels may result in packet losses, which can degrade the image quality. Error concealment (EC) is an effective approach to reduce the degradation caused by the missed information. The conventional temporal EC techniques are always inefficient when the motions of the video object are irregular. In this paper, in order to overcome this problem,...

Analyzing motion patterns in traffic videos can be exploited directly to generate high-level descriptions of the video contents. Such descriptions may further be employed in different traffic applications such as traffic phase detection and abnormal event detection. One of the most recent and successful unsupervised methods for complex traffic scene analysis is based on topic models. In this pa...

According to progress of technology during the recent decades, video transmission through a wireless channel has found high demands. In this field, several methods have been proposed to improve video quality. Appearing error in motion vector values is one of the most important factors which can affect the video quality. In case of creating errors in motion vector, the synthesized video frames a...
متن کاملNew adaptive interpolation schemes for efficient meshbased motion estimation
Motion estimation and compensation is an essential part of existing video coding systems. The mesh-based motion estimation (MME) produces smoother motion field, better subjective quality (free from blocking artifacts), and higher peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) in many cases, especially at low bitrate video communications, compared to the conventional block matching algorithm (BMA). Howev...
متن کاملRecognition of Visual Events using Spatio-Temporal Information of the Video Signal
Recognition of visual events as a video analysis task has become popular in machine learning community. While the traditional approaches for detection of video events have been used for a long time, the recently evolved deep learning based methods have revolutionized this area. They have enabled event recognition systems to achieve detection rates which were not reachable by traditional approac...
